Once upon a time, I set monthly goals and shared them here online. I haven’t done that since 2016.
On Monday, I found myself thinking about the start of the new month and all the many things I’ve been working on lately. I decided to write down a few goals for this new month and then thought I’d share them here, for old time’s sake. And maybe for accountability.
These goals are more personal and project oriented. My real estate goals are something else entirely. (Which, do you know anyone looking to move?? This is the time of year when a lot of folks start looking. DM me when you come across someone I can help!)
Here are my March goals:
- Sleep at Magnolia Ridge. We closed on this property two weeks ago and have done a lot of work already. We haven’t been able to stay there yet because we discovered a gas leak. Hopefully this week! You can follow this progress on instagram.
- Schedule/plan a garage sale. As we prepare for this move, we’re getting rid of so much! I’m shooting for a big garage sale early April. This month, I want to get everything cleaned out/tagged.
- Host my first workshop. Next week, I’m hosting my very first workshop and I couldn’t be more excited about launching this part of my business. This first workshop is all about goal setting and how to determine which of your ideas to develop next. Want me to come deliver this workshop for your crew? Fill out this form and we can make it happen!
- Record two podcast episodes. I finally announced that I’m working on a podcast last week. More recording supplies arrived yesterday so I have a goal to have two finished episodes by the end of this month! There’s a huge learning curve here for me so this one will be the hardest.
- Have a picnic at the pond. We’ve been so busy working and moving when we’re at the new place, that I haven’t even been able to enjoy that pond. A goal for this month is to have a picnic there.
There you have it. These are the top 5 things I intend to get done this month. For me, this is mainly about being intentional with my time. There’s so many things I could work on or get distracted by and setting these intentions for the month helps me to stay focused. Sometimes, it’s about making sure I’m living my best life amidst all of the work and productivity, and that’s why I added a picnic to the list.
Have you ever set monthly goals before? If you want to give it a shot, here are a few tips:
- Limit it to 3-5 powerful things. Don’t put too many things on your monthly list or you’ll get discouraged.
- Make them very specific. The idea is to be able to cross these off at the end of the month. For example, if you have a goal to be moved my June, make this month’s goal to pack 10 boxes.
- Include fun stuff in these. I used a picnic this time. One December I included hot chocolate + looking at Christmas lights. You want this list to make you productive and also help you to have fun and enjoy this life you’re working so hard to build.
With that said, what goals are you setting this month??
